The Montenegrin Government has once again tabled amendments to the "Law on Public Holidays of Montenegro", which stipulate that November 13, the day of the birth of Petar II Petrovic Njegos, should be a new annual non-working public holiday in Montenegro.
Three years ago (2013-10-28), the government of Montenegro announced similar plans to add November 13, the anniversary of the birth of the poet Petar Petrovic II Njegos, to the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Montenegro, but had to shelve the plan due to opposition from the Bosniak Party, which represents the Montenegro's significant Bosniak-Muslim minority (2013-11-10).
