Nicaragua's Ministry of Labour (MITRAB), through its coordinator for the council of communications, Rosario Murillo, has announced that Nicaraguan President, Daniel Ortega Saavedra, had once again authorized the extension of the annual, July 19, non-working public holiday of Nicaragua, with a one-off non-working public sector holiday in Nicaragua on Monday, July 20, 2015 ("el día 20 se decreta como asueto con goce de salario para los trabajadores del Estado").
In the past, a one-off, July 20, non-working public holiday had often been adjoined to the annual, July 19, public holiday of Nicaragua (2015-07-14, 2012-07-14, 2010-07-09 and 2009-07-15), though not systematically (2014-07-15 and 2013-07-13), and almost never for the private sector ("miércoles 20 como asueto con goce de salario para los trabajadores del sector público").
