The Ministry of the Interior of the Federal Government of Pakistan has amended the dates for the upcoming Eid-ulAzha (Feast of sacrifice) annual non-working public holidays throughout Pakistan for the calendar year 2016, extending the upcoming Eid-ulAzha non-working public holidays period to 3 days.
As per the aforementioned announcement, the upcoming 2016 Eid-ul Azha public holidays in Pakistan will run from Monday to Wednesday, September 12 to 14, 2016, which is a day later and a day longer than what was announced in the "expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2016" published by the Government of Pakistan at the beginning of the current year (2016-02-01).
A similar extension, though not a shift, of the Eid-ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holidays throughout Pakistan for the calendar year 2016, was made earlier this summer by expanding these annual Pakistani public holidays to last 6 days (2016-06-27).
