The Consell de la Generalitat Valenciana has unanimously voted a motion to make San Juan (June 24) an official annual non-working public holiday in future calendars of non-working public holidays (calendario laboral) for Spain's autonomous region of Valencia.

The aforementioned addition of San Juan (June 24) as an official annual non-working public holiday in future calendars of non-working public holidays for Spain's autonomous region of Valencia, would be compensated by the removal of Easter Monday from the same future calendars of non-working public holidays for Spain's autonomous region of Valencia.

The aforementioned announcement would only take effect in 2017, as 2016 non-working public holidays in Spain's autonomous region of Valencia are still covered by the "Decreto 177/2015, de 16 de octubre, de la Comunitat Valenciana, del Consell, por el que se determina el calendario laboral de aplicación en el ámbito territorial de la Comunitat Valenciana para el año 2016." (DOCV de 19 de octubre de 2015) (2015-10-22 and 2015-10-08).
