Tonga's Prime Minister's Office has issued a communiqué announcing that Monday, July 4, 2016, would be marked as an official non-working public holiday in Tonga to mark the 57th birthday of King Tupou VI.

The declaration of Monday, July 4, 2016, as an official non-working public holiday in Tonga to mark the 57th birthday of King Tupou VI, is in line with Tonga's Ministry of Information and Communications communiqué announcing the official list of non-working public holidays in Tonga for the calendar year 2016, announced late last year (2015-11-12), and with the terms of the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2010" (Act No. 10 of 2010) which amended the public holidays legislation of Tonga (2010-05-19 and 2010-04-08).
