Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has issued a circular declaring Saturday and Sunday, December 16 and 17, 2017, as non-working public holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming annual National Day and the 18th Anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
As was the case some previous years (2016-12-15, 2016-12-14, 2011-12-13 and 2010-12-12), but not all (2015-12-13, 2014-12-13 and 2013-12-12), one of the aforementioned dates of the non-working public holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming annual National Day and the 18th Anniversary of the accession to the throne of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, coincides with the Friday and Saturday weekly days of rest in Bahrain (2006-08-02), leading Bahrain's Prime Minister to add that "whereas Saturday will be compensated with a day off on Monday, December 18".
