The government of Spain's Autonomous Region of Galicia (Consejo de la Xunta de Galicia) has published its annual official list of regional public holidays ("calendario laboral") in Galicia for the upcoming calendar year 2018.
In its annual calendar of official public holidays (2016-05-04, 2015-07-03, 2014-05-24, 2013-06-21, 2012-06-02, 2011-07-02, 2010-06-29, 2009-07-17, 2007-07-20 and 2007-01-04) for the calendar year 2018, the Consejo de la Xunta de Galicia has once again decided to declare a regional public holiday on July 25 (Día Nacional de Galicia), and it has decided, for 2017, to reinstate the May 17 (Letras Galegas) public holiday, which had been re-instated last year, but with a twist for 2018, that this May 17 public holiday is to be compensated by an extra working day to be negotiated on a per enterprise basis ("a negociar con la empresa").
As per custom, a corresponding decree will later (2016-07-08) be published in the Diario Oficial de Galicia ("DECRETO por el que se determina el calendario laboral para el año 2018 en la Comunidad Autónoma de Galicia").
