Jammu and Kashmir 2017 Public Holidays Amended Again

The Government of India's state of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a Government Order which further amends its annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming calendar year 2017 ("the Shab-e-Qadr holiday which was scheduled on Thursday will be observed on Friday in all government schools and offices").

This is the third consecutive month (2017-05-31 and 2017-04-22), in which the Government of India's state of Jammu and Kashmir announces an amended list of the days which will are non-working public holidays in India's State of Jammu and Kashmir for the calendar year 2017, as compared to that released last autumn (2016-12-11); first by issuing the Government Order No: 520-GAD of 2017 which amended the date of the Mairaj-ul-Alam (The Prophet's Ascension) annual public holiday of India's state of Jammu and Kashmir ("In partial modification of Government Order No: 1345-GAD of 2016 dated: 19-12-2016, the holiday on account of Shab-e-Mairaj shall be observed on 25 April 2017 (Tuesday), instead of 24 April 2017 (Monday) in the government offices and educational institutions of the State"), and a month later by issuing the Government Order No: 690-GAD of 2017 ("In partial modification of Government order No. 1345-GAD of 2016 date 09-12-2016, the holiday on account of 'Mela Khir Bhawani' shall be observed on 2nd June, 2017 (Friday) instead of 1st June, 2017 (Thursday) in the government offices and education institutions in Kashmir Province").
