The Central Bank of Jordan has announced a bank holiday on Sunday, April 30, 2017, on account of the annual non-working Jordanian public holiday of Labor Day.
The aforementioned announcement, contained in the "Memorandum to Licensed Banks No.18/2017", of a bank holiday on Sunday, April 30, 2017, on account of the annual non-working Jordanian public holiday of Labor Day, thus modifies the previously-released (2016-10-15), list of annual non-working bank holidays and public holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2017, although it is in line with past practice (2015-04-22, 2013-04-19, 2013-01-17, 2012-04-24 and 2006-04-25), though not systematically (2016-04-26, 2010-04-27 and 2005-04-25), of moving mid-week public holidays, in particular the Labour Day non-working public holiday, to the nearest weekend.
