Macau's Chief Executive has once again announced additional, one-off, non-working public holidays (Special Grant for exempt from work for staff in Public Administration by the Chief Executive on 9 March 2017) for the upcoming calendar year 2018.

The aforementioned announcement of 5 full-days and 2 afternoon, non-working public holidays in 2018, ("Special Grant for exempt from work for staff in Public Administration by the Chief Executive on 9 March 2017"), follows a trend started a few years ago (2016-04-17, 2015-04-15, 2014-03-25, 2013-02-23, 2012-03-20, 2011-07-22, 2010-03-31, 2009-06-30, 2009-03-27, 2004-05-21, 2006-01-16, 2007-01-31, and 2007-03-13), and was made under the purview of the "Decree Law No. 60/2000 on Public Holidays".

Based on what happened in past years (2016-05-05, 2015-04-29, 2014-04-10, 2013-03-06, 2012-04-06, 2011-08-02, 2010-04-15, and 2009-07-20) we expect the official announcement of the non-working public holidays in Macau for the calendar year 2018 to follow within a few weeks.
