A press statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office of Malaysia's state of Sarawak has announced that the state government of Sarawak had decided to move the date of the annual public holiday in Malaysia's state of Sarawak for the Birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak.

As per the aforementioned announcement, due to the recent (13-Jul-2017 and 29-Apr-2017) change of the Malaysian annual non-working public holiday for the the official birthday of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V, to September 9, 2017, the date of the annual public holiday in Malaysia's state of Sarawak for the Birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak in 2018 will be changed from September 9 to Saturday, October 13, 2018.

The change in the date of the annual public holiday in Malaysia's state of Sarawak for the Birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, thus further (15-Nov-2017) amends last summer's release (01-Aug-2017) by Malaysia's Cabinet's and the Constitution and Government Relations Department of the Prime Minister's Office of the annual official Federal Public Holidays Schedule 2018 and State Public Holiday Schedule 2018 containing the list of official national non-working public holidays in Malaysia for the calendar year 2018 as well as the state-specific regional non-working public holidays in Malaysia for the calendar year 2018.
