The Federal Government of Pakistan has once again amended the dates for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holidays throughout Pakistan for the calendar year 2017, by expanding these annual Pakistani public holidays by one additional day.

As per the aforementioned announcement ("It is notified for general information that 26th, 27th and 28th June, 2017 (Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday)") shall be public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2017) by the Pakistani Interior Minister (No. 2/4/2016) the upcoming 2017 Eid-ul-Fitr public holidays in Pakistan, will run from June 26-28, 2017, which is longer than what was announced in the "expected dates for public and optional holidays for the calendar year 2017" published by the Government of Pakistan at the end of last year (2016-12-25).

As happened in some past years (2016-06-27, 2015-07-07, 2015-01-12, 2013-07-31 and 2012-08-09), but not all (2011-08-25 and 2010-09-05), and not to the same extent as last year, the Government of Pakistan thus extended the duration of the upcoming 2017 Eid-ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holidays in Pakistan for "government and private companies employees".
