Earlier today, Philippines President, Rodrigo Duterte, signed Proclamation No. 269, s. 2017, which lists the annual special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2018.

The aforementioned announcement of the special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2018, comes at about the same time as for the past 2 years (2016-08-18 and 2015-08-26), though later than some recent years (2014-07-23), but not all (2013-09-30), although historically, the list of non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the coming year has often been released much later (2011-12-01, 2010-12-20, and 2009-01-07).

The new annual public holiday for the Chinese New Year, which had been promised for many years (2014-01-31, 2011-01-12 and 2011-01-03), is included in the list of special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2018, as was the case last year for the first time.
