The Government of Rwanda has released its annual list of official non-working public holidays in Rwanda for the calendar year 2017.
The aforementioned announcement of the list of official non-working public holidays in Rwanda for the calendar year 2017, as opposed to previous ones (2015-01-26, 2014-03-26, 2013-01-07 and 2012-01-11), departs from the "Arrêté Presidentiel N°06/01 Du 16/02/2011 Determinant Les Jours Feries Officiels" which, 5 years ago, overhauled the list of Rwandan non-working public holidays (2011-03-07), and, as was the case last year (2015-11-01), follows the provisions of the "Presidential Order N°42/03 Of 30/06/2015 Determining Official Holidays" ("Iteka Rya Perezida N°42/03 Ryo Ku Wa 30/06/2015 Rishyiraho Iminsi Y‟ibiruhuko Rusange"), voted 2 years ago (2015-07-01 and 2015-05-18), and which added new annual non-working public holidays in Rwanda, as well as clearly and unambiguously spelling-out what happens when each public holiday of Rwanda occurs on a weekend or on the date of another non-working public holiday of Rwanda ("Impurirane y‟iminsi y‟ikiruhuko n‟iminsi y‟impera y‟icyumweru").
