The UAE's government has announced its annual list of expected non-working public holidays in the UAE for the calendar year 2017.

The aforementioned annual announcement (2015-12-26, 2015-01-04, 2014-01-07 and 2012-12-29) of the list of expected non-working public holidays in the UAE for the calendar year 2017, generally follows the Umm al-Qora Saudi calendar, though some last-minute departure led by Saudi Arabia are always possible (2016-09-04, 2015-09-14, 2015-09-15 and 2015-09-14).

As always, the list of expected non-working public holidays in the UAE for the calendar year 2017 could be modified as per the "Cabinet Resolution No. (17) of 2009 regarding the Public Holidays at the Federal Government" (2009-04-26) which allows for the moving of mid-week (2006-05-31) public holidays to adjoin the nearest weekend ("Save as for Eids-related holidays, any of the public holidays specified in the preceding Article may be changed to the beginning or the end of the week when falling between two business days"), as was most recently done for the date of the November 30th, "Martyrs' Day" public holiday in the UAE (2016-11-17).
