The government of Benin has released a communiqué, signed by Benin's Minister of Labour and Social Security, announcing that the government of Bénin had declared Wednesday, August 15, 2018, as a non-working public holiday throughout Bénin on account of the upcoming "fête de l'Assomption" annual non-working public holidays in the Bénin.

The aforementioned declaration of Wednesday, August 15, 2018, as a non-working public holiday throughout Bénin on account of the upcoming "fête de l'Assomption" annual non-working public holidays in the Bénin ("la journée du mercrdi 15 août 2018 a été déclarée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l'étendue du territoire national en raison de la célébration en cette journée de la fête de l'Assomption"), as on previous occasions (2017-08-10 and 2016-08-12), is in line with the previously-announced list of annual non-working public holidays in the Benin for the calendar year 2017, as announced by the government of Benin, earlier this year (2017-02-11), as well as with the "loi n°90-019 du 27 juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin".
