The Government of Mali has declared Friday, July 20, 2018, and Monday, July 23, 2018, as one-off non-working public holidays in Mali to enable the population to go and get their electoral registration cards for the upcoming, July 29, first round of the presidential election.

The aforementioned declaration of July 20 and 23 as one-off non-working public holidays in Mali is in addition to the list of 2018 public holidays in the Mali, as announced earlier this year (05-Jan-2018).

Such "voter registration public holidays" are particular to Mali.

Five years ago (23-Jul-2013), the Government of Mali declared Friday, July 26, 2013, as another one-off non-working public holiday to enable the population to go and get their electoral registration cards for the upcoming, July 28, first round of the presidential election.

Four years before that (21-Apr-2009), the government of Mali similarly declared Tuesday, April 21, 2009, as a one-off public holiday to enable the population to go and get their electoral registration cards for the April 26 communal elections.

And, two years before that (24-Apr-2007), for the preceding presidential election, April 25, 2007, had been declared a one-off public holiday to enable people to also go and collect their voting cards.
