The Nigerian Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, in a statement on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, has announced that Friday and Monday, June 15 and 18, 2018, had been declared as non-working public holidays throughout Nigeria on account of the upcoming Eid-el-Fitri (End of Ramadan) annual public holidays of Nigeria.

Contrary to what happened in previous years (2016-06-30, 2015-07-14, 2014-07-23, 2013-08-05, 2012-08-13, 2009-09-18 and 2008-09-25), though not systematically (2017-06-22, 2011-08-24 and 2010-09-03), the Nigerian Government did not move the upcoming End of Ramadan public holidays to adjoin a nearby weekend, not did it need to declare a bridge public holiday as was done last year (2016-07-05).
