The Peruvian government, via a tweet by its Ministerio de Trabajo y Promoción del Empleo (MTPE) a has ruled-out the declaration of a one-off non-working public holiday in Peru on April 30, 2018 ("El Ministerio de Trabajo y Promoción del Empleo informa a la ciudadanía en general que el próximo lunes 30 de abril es día laborable").

The aforementioned announcement that Monday, April 30, 2018, would be a regular working day in Peru is in line with the Decreto Supremo Nº 021-2017-TR, released late last year (2017-12-26) by the government of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, and which amended and expanded the list of the official non-working public holidays in Peru for the upcoming calendar year 2018 ("Declaran días no laborables compensables para los trabajadores del Sector Público, durante el Año 2018").
