The Romanian Government has announced that Thursday and Friday, August 16 and 17, 2018, had been declared a one-off non-working public sector holiday throughout Romania to link the August 15 public holiday with the subsequent weekend.
The aforementioned declaration of Thursday and Friday, August 16 and 17, 2018, as one-off bridge public holidays in Romania thus amending the lists of public holidays for 2018 in Romania (2017-12-31), once more (2018-04-12, 2018-03-12, 2018-02-28 and 2018-02-25), though only for the Romanian public sector.
As is common in such cases (2013-12-13, 2013-08-14, 2012-11-28 and 2012-04-26) when bridge public holidays are declared in Romania, the aforementioned one-off non-working public sector holidays will be compensated by the declaration of the same number of working Saturdays (August 25 and September 1), or by overtime work to be performed before September 7, 2018.
