Sri Lanka's Government Information Department has issued a special statement ruling-out the declaration of Monday, October 29, 2018, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Sri Lanka.

A fake SMS news alert had been circulating, claiming that the Presidential Secretariat had issued a gazette declaring tomorrow (29.10.2018) a public holiday, in contradiction of the official list of Sri Lankan public holidays for the calendar year 2018, as announced last year (2017-07-24).
