The government of Timor Leste has issued a statement denying that Wednesday, October 31, 2018, had been declared as a one-off public holiday in Timor Leste ("Prezidénsia Konsellu Ministru informa katak sirkula tiha komunikadu falsu ida ne’ebé maka la’ós fó-sai hosi departamentu governamentál ida-ne’e, hodi fó-sai no bosok ba públiku katak sei fó toleránsia de pontu ba funsionáriu públiku sira, iha loron kuarta 31 outubru, hahú hosi tuku 12 otl.").
According to the Secretariat of State of the Council of Ministers of Timor Leste, public holidays in Timor Leste are based on law No.10/2005, which overhauled Timor Leste's public holidays (12-Aug-2005) and the list of official public holidays in Timor Leste for the calendar year 2018, which was announced at the beginning of this year (09-Jan-2018).
