The government of Belarus has issued the "Decree of the Council of Ministers No. 688 of October 9, 2019" which expands and formalizes the annual list of official non-working public holidays in Belarus in the calendar year 2020.

Today's announcement of the "Decree of the Council of Ministers No. 688 of October 9, 2019" was announced by the Council of Ministers of Belarus, without the announcement of an earlier draft as was the case in past years (2018-12-18, 2018-12-12, 2017-10-30, 2015-11-25 and 2015-11-13) but not all (2016-11-10).

For the 7th consecutive year (2018-12-18, 2018-12-12, 2017-10-30, 2016-11-10, 2015-11-25, 2014-11-12, 2013-12-02 and 2012-12-01), the "Decree of the Council of Ministers No. 688 of October 9, 2019" lists one-off bridge and day in lieu public holidays in Belarus for 2020, before the beginning of the year, rather than on a case-by-case basis as was the case in previous years (2012-06-03, 2012-04-09, 2012-03-01, and 2011-12-29), though last-minute changes are always possible (2014-12-17).
