The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced that Friday, March 1, 2019, would a non-working public holiday in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that "in accordance with the Law on proclamation of the 1st of March as the day of independence of BiH (“Official Gazette of RBiH”, No. 9/95), state institutions, companies and other legal entities will not work on the Independence Day".
The aforementioned announcement that that Friday, March 1, 2019, would a non-working public holiday in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is in line with the announced the dates of the 2019 non-working public holidays in Bosnia and Herzegovina, released at the beginning of this year (2019-01-15) and which, as usual (2018-01-18, 2017-01-02, 2016-01-01, 2015-01-04, 2013-11-13 and 2012-11-10), were based on the 2009 "draft law on public holidays" (2009-07-18) with some additional regional public holidays that are not part of the "draft law on public holidays" but which are nonetheless observed by either the Bosnian Federation or the Republic of Srpska.
