Chad's Ministre de la Fonction Publique et du Travail has issued a communiqué declaring Monday, August 12, 2019, as the date of the upcoming Independence Day nationwide non-working public holiday in Chad ("déclarée fériée, chômée et payée sur l'ensemble du territoire nationale"), instead of the usual date of August 11.

The aforementioned change in the date of the 2019 Independence Day non-working public holiday in Chad is due to the 2019 Tabaski (Feast of Sacrifice) public holiday falling on August 11, also, in 2019.

Chad's Independence Day public holiday was moved from August to January for a few years (2011-08-10, 2010-11-08, 2010-08-10 and 2010-07-05), and was often accompanied by a second day of non-working public holiday in Chad, on August 12 or January 12 (2010-11-08 and 2009-12-31).
