The government of the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh, via the GAD-A(F)9-2/2019, signed by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Shrikant Baldi, has announced the public holidays and restricted holidays to be observed in the State of Himachal Pradesh as gazetted holidays during the upcoming calendar year 2020.
The aforementioned notification of the annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Himachal Pradesh for the upcoming calendar year 2020, are contained in the Government Notification GAD-A(F)9-2/2019 ("The Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to order that the holidays as listed in Annexure-I, will be observed as Gazetted Holidays during the calendar year- 2020, in the State of Himachal Pradesh.").
As per custom (2018-12-10, 2017-09-17, 2016-10-03, 2012-09-02 and 2011-09-18), the state of Himachal Pradesh observes the northern version of Diwali which, in 2020, will occur on the same date as the southern Deepavali (2016-11-15), and includes some holidays that are restricted to women ("Gazetted Holidays for the Year-2020 for women employees working in all Government Offices / Boards / Corporations / Educational Institutions in H.P. These will also be holidays for women employees under Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 and also to daily waged women employees.").
The list of 2020 public holidays in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh, as contained in the GAD-A(F)9-2/2019, may be amended, later in the year, as was the case for the list of Himachal Pradesh public holidays this present year (2019-09-26, 2019-09-07, 2019-05-01, and 2019-04-15).
