Jordan's Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, has issued a circular decreeing a non-working public holidays in Jordan for all ministries and official government departments, institutions and public bodies, on Thursday, January 17, 2019, due to "prevailing snowy conditions".

The aforementioned announcement of non-working public holidays in Jordan on Tuesday, December 25, 2018, and Tuesday, January 1, 2019, on account of the upcoming Christmas and Western New Year non-working bank holidays and public holidays of Jordan, is in line with the list of official non-working 2018 public holidays in Jordan, as released this past autumn (05-Nov-2017) and the list of official non-working 2019 public holidays in Jordan, as released a couple of month ago (18-Oct-2018).

Jordanian one-off public holidays declared for weather reasons were common a few years ago (18-Feb-2015, 11-Dec-2013, 09-Jan-2013, <6319>>, 31-Jan-2008 and 30-Jan-2008).
