Jordan's Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, has issued a circular decreeing a non-working public holidays in Jordan for all ministries and official government departments, institutions and public bodies, on Thursday, January 17, 2019, due to "prevailing snowy conditions".

The aforementioned announcement of a public holiday in Jordan on Thursday, January 17, 2019, thus amends the list of official non-working 2019 public holidays in Jordan, as released a couple of months ago (2018-10-18).

Jordanian one-off public holidays declared for weather reasons were common a few years ago (2015-02-18, 2013-12-11, 2013-01-09, 2013-01-08, 2008-01-31 and 2008-01-30).
