The French department of Mayotte has announced that Thursday, April 4, 2019, would be the date of the upcoming annual non-working public holiday in Mayotte on the occasion of the upcoming Miradji.

As per the aforementioned announcement from the Conseil Départemental de Mayotte, the declaration of Thursday, April 4, 2019, as the date of the upcoming annual non-working public holiday in Mayotte on the occasion of the Miradji, was based on the sighting of the Moon's nascent crescent.

Mayotte became a department of France in 2011, following a referendum 2 years before (2011-03-29 and 2009-03-28).
