The Government of Nauru has gazetted the Government Gazette No.139, G.N. 581/2019, declaring that August 19, is to be a new annual public holiday in Nauru, from this year onward, to be named Ibumin Earoeni (Day of the Tribes).

The aforementioned announcement that August 19, is to be a new annual public holiday in Nauru, from this year onward, thus further amends (2019-03-06) the list of 2019 public holidays in Nauru as announced late last year by the Government of Nauru (2018-12-27), but is in line with the practice of previous years (2017-03-05, 2014-03-03, 2013-03-01 and 2009-03-02).
