The government of Nepal's Province-2 has announced that it had declared Sunday, November 10, 2019, as a public holiday "on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mohammad Paigambar Sallah Alaibsallam, the promoter of Islam".

Muslim public holidays were added to the official list of Nepalese public holidays for 2008 (2008-10-01), after years of protests by the Muslim minority in Nepal (2007-06-30), and maintained since (2018-06-14, 2017-11-30, 2017-08-31, 2016-09-10, 2016-07-06, 2015-09-24, 2015-07-17, 2014-07-28, 2013-08-08, 2012-08-17, 2010-09-09 and 2009-09-20), but the aforementioned announcement is in addition to the gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year B.S. 2076 (April 2019-April 2020), as announced earlier this year (2019-03-15).
