Earlier this month, as was done last year (2018-03-14), the Mayor of Manila, had declared Wednesday, April 17, 2019, as a one-off non-working municipal public holiday (2017-10-23, 2017-09-27, 2017-04-21, 2017-01-03, 2015-10-05, 2014-12-23, 2013-06-18, 2011-06-08, 2010-06-22) on account of the upcoming annual Holy Wednesday.
The aforementioned declaration of an additional non-working public holiday in the Philippines on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, beginning at noon and only for the public sector, is in addition to the list of 2019 non-working public holidays in the Philippines, as set out in Proclamation No. 555, s. 2018, released this past summer (2018-08-17).
