A draft bill by 26 Romanian deputies aims to declare Martyrs Day, on March 1st, as a new annual non-working public holiday in Romania.
Recent additions to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Romania, include the declaration of Good Friday (Vinerea Mare) as a new annual non-working public holiday and bank holiday in Romania (2018-03-12, 2018-02-25), 2018-02-28, 2017-12-11), the declaration of a new annual non-working public holiday in Romania on June 1st, to mark International Children's Day (2016-11-17, 2016-10-18, 2016-09-15, 2016-06-13 and 2016-04-08), and a new annual non-working public holiday in Romania on January 24, to commemorate the reunification of Wallachia and Moldavia (2016-10-07 and 2016-09-06).
