The Solomon Islands Minister for Home Affairs has announced that the upcoming National Election day, Wednesday, April 3, 2019, would once again be declared a national non-working public holiday in the Solomon Islands.

The aforementioned declaration of Wednesday, April 3, 2019, as a national non-working public holiday in the Solomon Islands, on account of the upcoming National Election day, thus amends the list of 2019 public holidays in the Solomon Islands, as released by the government of the Solomon islands, earlier this year (2018-12-26).

The Solomon Islands have usually, but not always, declared one-off public holidays, on the occasion of past elections (2014-12-08, 2014-11-13, 2010-08-24, 2010-08-20, 2010-08-16, 2010-07-28).
