Sources at the Cheong Wa Dae (the Korean presidential residence) indicate that they will seek cabinet approval to declare Thursday, April 11, 2019, as a one-off non-working public holiday in South Korea to commemorate the centennial of the government in exile in Shanghai.

In recent years, some tentatively announced one-off public holidays in South Korea came to pass while others did not (2018-04-12, 2018-04-10, 2017-09-05, 2017-08-27, 2016-04-28, 2016-04-25, 2015-08-04, 2015-08-02).
