Sri Lanka Banks' Association, via the Sri Lankan Minister of Home Affairs, Wajira Abeywardena, has released its annual list of the official bank holidays in Sri Lanka for the upcoming calendar year 2020, in line with, but as always expanding upon, the official list of annual Sri Lankan public holidays for the upcoming calendar year 2020, as published late this past spring.

As was the case in the past (2018-08-27, 2018-02-27, 2016-10-19, 2015-08-04, 2014-11-14, 2013-10-18, 2012-10-16, 2011-10-10, 2011-08-31, 2010-07-21, 2010-07-12 and 2009-07-06), the aforementioned list of 2020 bank holidays follows the summer's announcement, in the "Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka", of the 2020 public holidays in Sri Lanka (2019-06-10), which itself followed the announcement of the Full Moon Poya Days in 2020 (2019-04-09), and adds a few additional half-day bank holidays for some non-Poya public holidays falling on a Saturday or Sunday, as usual around April.
