The government of Thailand has announced the date of the 2019 Royal Ploughing Ceremony annual non-working public holiday.
As per the aforementioned announcement, the 2018 Royal Ploughing Ceremony non-working public holiday will be observed on Thursday, May 9, 2019.
After 7 consecutive year (2017-06-05, 2016-08-14, 2015-11-03, 2014-12-08, 2013-12-26, 2012-11-30 and 2011-12-08) when the Royal Ploughing Ceremony public holiday was announced well in advance, the government of Thailand, perhaps because of last year's mishap (2017-11-18), seems to have gone back to its previous habit of declaring the Royal Ploughing Ceremony public holiday a few weeks before the actual event.
