The government of Timor Leste announced that it had once again decided to grant an additional day-off public sector holiday in Timor Leste ("Toleránsia pontu iha loron 6 fulan-marsu tinan 2019") for Ash Wednesday, on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, to to all employees and agents of the ministries or their dependent services, as well as the institutes and integrated indirect State administration bodies.
According to the Secretariat of State of the Council of Ministers of Timor Leste, this decision is based on law No.10/2005, which overhauled Timor Leste's public holidays (2005-08-12), though the aforementioned declaration of Wednesday, March 6, 2019, as an additional day-off public sector holiday in Timor Leste, is in addition to the recently-released (2019-02-08) list of non-working public holidays in Timor Leste for the calendar year 2019.
