Bermuda's community minister, Lovitta Foggo, announced in the House of Assembly that, beginning in 2021, the Friday before the first Monday in August, would be observed in Bermuda as the Mary Prince Day public holiday.

The Friday before the first Monday in August coincides with the second day of Cup Match, an annual cricket match between Somerset and St. George’s, and in past years that holiday was named after Admiral Sir George Somers who founded of the English colony of Bermuda (2020-01-05, 2016-10-31, 2016-01-17, 2014-03-24, 2013-09-25, 2013-02-26, 2011-04-27, 2011-01-22, 2010-08-02, 2009-08-02).
