Delhi NCT 2021 Public Holidays Released

The General Administration Department of India's National Capital Territory of Delhi Government, has released the DOPT Order No. F. 53/401/GAD/CN/2020/3376-3424 containing the list of annual public holidays and restricted holidays to be observed as holidays in all Government offices of the National Capital Territory of Delhi during the year 2021 (Saka Era 1942-43).

The preamble to the English version of the aforementioned list of 2021 public holidays in the Delhi NCT, reads as follows: "In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs’ Notification No. U-11030/2/73-UTL dated 28/06/1973, the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is pleased to declare the holidays specified in the Schedule below, to be the Public Holidays in the National Capital Territory of Delhi during the year 2021 (Saka Era 1942-43).".

The list of 2021 public holidays and restricted holidays in India's National Capital Territory of Delhi has a unique date for the northern Indian Diwali as for the southern Indian Deepavali, as is often the case (2019-11-18, 2019-06-19, 2018-07-11, 2011-07-03, 2010-06-27, 2009-06-13, and 2008-06-15), but not always (2017-06-15, 2016-06-25, 2015-06-11, 2014-06-07 and 2014-07-16, 2013-06-15 and 2012-06-10).

The DOPT Order No. F. 53/401/GAD/CN/2020/3376-3424 was signed by order and in the name of the Lt. Governorof the National Capital Territory of Delhi, by his deputy secretary, Amitabh Kundoo, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
