Gambia Declares Labour Day 2020 Public Holiday

The President of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, has declared that Friday, May 1, 2020, had been declared as a non-working public holiday throughout Gambia ("The Public is hereby informed that the President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, acting under section 76 of the 1997 Constitution of Republic of The Gambia, is pleased to declare Friday 1st May, 2020, a Public Holiday throughout The Gambia, in observance of International Workers’ Day").

The aforementioned announcement that Friday, May 1, 2020, had been declared as a non-working public holiday throughout Gambia is in line with past years' announcements (2019-04-26, 2018-04-27, 2018-12-24, 2017-02-16, 2016-03-23, 2016-02-17, 2015-09-17, 2014-01-11, 2013-08-07, 2012-11-07, 2012-07-20, 2011-12-27, 2011-04-29, 2011-04-21 and 2011-02-17).
