The National Congress of Honduras has approved a draft decree presented by the Ministry of Tourism to transfer the upcoming Morazánica public holidays from October 2020, to the first week of November 2020 ("los feriados del 3,12 y 21 de noviembre, como todos los años, se unificarán para gozarlos con fines turísticos en el denominado «Feriado Morazánico» el cual se comenzará a gozar a partir del primer miércoles de noviembre a las 12:00 del mediodía").
Today's decree comes a week after the Consejo Hondureño de la Empresa Privada (COHEP) of Honduras had announced that the upcoming 2020 "Semana Morazánica", annual October public holidays of Honduras, would start at noon on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, and run until Sunday night, October 11, 2020 (2020-09-10).
Then, in 2014, the "Decreto Legislativo No. 75-2014 del 29 de septiembre" (2014-10-27, 2014-10-02, 2014-09-10 and 2014-09-05), moved of all 3 of Honduras' annual October non-working public holidays to the last week of October, and a year later (2015-08-14, 2015-08-05, 2015-12-12 and 2015-07-01), they were moved from the last week of October to the beginning of October, due to the rainy season coinciding with the end of October in Honduras, and "to give people more time to recover financially from these extended holidays before the onset of the Christmas shopping season".
