The Irish Minister for Tourism, Brendan Griffin, speaking during an emergency of the Dáil (Ireland’s parliament), announced that the Irish government was considering declaring a one-off special bank and public holiday in Ireland, "when lockdown restrictions are finally lifted".
Such a declaration of a post-lockdown public holiday in Ireland would amend the previously released list of bank holidays and public holidays in the calendar 2020 in Ireland (2018-07-02).
