At its last cabinet meeting, the State Government of India's state of Karnataka has approved and announced its annual list of the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Karnataka for the upcoming calendar year 2021 (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ನ 5: 2021ರ ಸಾಲಿನ ಹಬ್ಬ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ರಜಾದಿನ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಇಂಡಸ್ಟ್ರಿಯಲ್ ಎಸ್ಟಾಬ್ಲಿಷ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಆಕ್ಟ್ 1963ರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಹತ್ತುದಿನ ರಜೆಯನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ನೀಡಬೇಕಿದೆ.).
The aforementioned notification of the list of 2021 public holidays in India's state of Karnataka, are contained in a Government Order Notification NO.DPAR 12 HHL 2020 issued by the Karnataka Government Secretaraiat of and signed by Mohammed Naeem Momin by order of and in the name of the Govemor of Karnataka, and as usual (2019-11-23, 2017-11-17, 2017-11-10 and 2016-11-30), omits habitual public holidays on the years when they fall on a Sunday or on a non-working Saturday ("This list does not include Mahaveera Jayanthi (25.04.2021). Independence day (15.08.2021) which falls on Sundays and Christmas (25.12.2021) which falls on Fourth Saturday").
As for the Muslim public holidays in Karnataka in 2021, the Government Order specifies that "If any of the Holidays for the festivals of Muslim Fraternity notified above does not fall on the date notified, Muslim Fraternity in Government Service may be granted holiday on the date of observance in view of the holidays already notified.".
Later, one-off amendments, to the aforementioned list of non-working public holidays in India's state of Karnataka for the upcoming calendar year 2021, are always possible (2019-06-10 and 2019-01-21), though no such last-minute change occurred in 2020.
