The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan has issued a draft amendment to the annual list of 2021 public holidays in Kazakhstan, "for the rational use of working time in 2021, in accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 85 of the Labor Code", and stating that "the advance postponement of the weekend will make it possible to effectively plan recreation, cultural and corporate events, as well as related costs".

As was the case some previous years (2019-11-05, 2019-08-29, 2018-11-14, 2017-12-25, 2017-10-05, 2016-01-13, 2015-01-17, 2013-12-26, 2013-02-18, 2012-02-17 and 2011-01-14), but not all (2016-05-31), the aforementioned draft list of non-working public holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021, declares bridge holidays and compensatory working Saturdays (2017-10-17, 2016-03-28, 2016-03-14, 2016-03-03), though, in fact, the aforementioned draft amendment to the annual list of 2021 public holidays in Kazakhstan only declares one bridge public holiday on July 5 ("move the day of rest from Saturday, July 3, 2021 to Monday, July 5, 2021").

The Day of the Capital public holiday, on July 6, was declared as a new annual non-working public holiday in Kazakhstan, a decade ago (2008-06-26, 2008-06-23 and 2008-06-18).
