The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Muhammedkaly Abylgaziev, has announced that, for the next 3 weeks, the public sector would have no days off, including weekends, thus canceling the expected public sectors holidays and days off on March 22, 28, 29, and April 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 2020.

A similar cancellation of public sector holidays, in neighboring Kazakhstan, was aborted at the last minute, as Kazakhstan's Deputy Director of the Department of Civil Service, Duman Abilev, announced that, despite the earlier order from the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokaev, Monday, March 9, 2020, would remain a public sector holiday (2020-03-02).
