The Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan has confirmed that, despite the annual International Women's Day public holiday of Kyrgyzstan falling on a Sunday in 2020, no additional, day in lieu, public holiday would be observed in Kyrgyzstan on Monday, March 9, 2020.
The aforementioned announcement that no public holiday would be observed in Kyrgyzstan on Monday, March 9, 2020, follows from last year's decree by the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Muhammedkaly Abylgaziev (постановление правительства о переносе выходных дней в целях рационального использования работниками выходных и нерабочих праздничных дней в 2020 году), officializing the list of non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan for the calendar year 2020 (2019-12-16 and 2019-10-15), in which, the expected March 9, 2020, public holiday was moved to Friday, January 3, 2020.
Last month (2020-01-26), a similar announcement was made, reminding the public in Kyrgyzstan that the expected February 24, 2020, public holiday had been moved to Thursday, January 2, 2020.
