The President of the Republic of Liberia, George Manneh Weah, has issued a Proclamation declaring Sunday, November 29, 2020, as a public holiday in Liberia to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of William V. S. Tubman, and to be observed throughout the Republic of Liberia as a national holiday.

The Birth anniversary of former President William V.S. Tubman was set aside as an annual non-working public holiday by the 42nd Legislature, but such last-minute re-confirmation of annual public holidays are a staple of the Liberian public holidays calendar (2020-11-03, 2020-10-22, 2020-07-24, 2020-02-08, 2019-11-28, 2019-08-21, 2019-05-12, 2018-10-30, 2018-08-23, 2018-07-29, 2018-03-10, 2017-10-06, 2017-05-12, 2016-05-12, 2015-04-09, 2015-03-14, 2014-07-17, 2014-04-10, 2013-04-05, 2013-03-13, 2012-11-27, 2012-10-31, 2012-07-23, 2011-11-01, 2011-04-06, 2010-11-03, 2010-07-23 and 2010-04-08).

This year, due to November 29 falling on a Sunday, "President Weah has ordered and directed that all government ministries, agencies, business houses, and market places be closed on Monday, November 30, 2020".
