Mexico's Senate has unanimously approved the declaration of October 12 as the new Day of the Pluricultural Nation holiday in Mexico to recognize "the multicultural, multiethnic and multilingual wealth that characterizes Mexico".
The aforementioned bill declaring October 12 as the Day of the Pluricultural Nation was previously approved by the Mexican lower house, the Chamber of Representatives.
The bill, which will now be sent to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for signature, will not affect the list of 2020 bank holidays and public holidays in Mexico, as announced, late last year (2019-12-20).
