The Ministry of Home Affairs of Nepal has announced that it had declared Saturday, November 14, 2020, as an additional day of public holiday in Nepal for the upcoming Tihar festival.

The aforementioned announcement that Nepal's government had declared Saturday, November 14, 2020, as an extension to the Tihar 2020 public holidays, thus amends last spring's (2020-03-31) gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year 2077 (April 2020-April 2021).

Due to various calendars being used by different communities to calculate the dates of the same holidays, the date and extent of the Tihar public holidays have often been tweaked at the last minute by the Nepalese government (2019-10-24, 2017-10-17, and 2011-10-24).
