The Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Nigeria, Rauf Aregbesola, has announced that the Nigerian Government, had declared Thursday, October 29, 2020, as a non-working public holiday throughout Nigeria to mark the Eidul-Mawlid (birth of Prophet Muhammad) celebration ("The Federal Government has declared Thursday October 29, 2020 as Public Holiday to mark this year’s Eidul-Mawlid celebration in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad").

This year's declaration of Thursday, October 29, 2020, as a non-working public holiday throughout Nigeria to mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad, as was the case for the past 3 years (2018-11-16 and 2017-11-29), should be more straightforward than it was in preceding years (2015-12-22, 2015-12-17 and 2014-12-30).
